The Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund (LHSF) was established in 1991 by a group of concerned Lynn residents. In 1992 it was incorporated as a Massachusetts non-profit organization.

Our mission is to provide annual scholarships to students graduating from each of the Lynn high schools, to encourage and motivate students to continue their education, and to help provide the opportunity for students to attend college or university. LHSF gives scholarships to recipients who are selected by a committee that is elected each year. Recipients are chosen based upon academic achievement, personal strengths, community service, and financial need. Students must be graduating seniors from any of the Lynn high schools, and must be Hispanic or of Hispanic ancestry or background.

We know that higher education can only be obtained with support, effort, and sacrifice. The LHSF works with the community and seeks out assistance that will help give our students the opportunity to continue their education. Our program receives numerous calls from students who are looking for our financial help. We can only provide that help if all of us work together.

Our organization has had a great impact in our community, by making college more accessible. All students deserve to have the opportunity to go on to higher education once they have finished high school. Our goal is to provide them with the support they need in order to obtain a career that will one day be beneficial not only to themselves and their families, but to the entire city of Lynn. Our community's future is in their hands.
